Last one out, turn off the lights!

Well family and friends, Brian is home. Out of the Army, home. He ans Share have been with us for a week, and will be staying with friends in Mesa while looking for work and a place to live.

Since I started this blog to chronicle Aaryk's Army journey, and then Brian's tour, it seems fitting to call it a day.

I'll be leaving the blog up, at least until I find a good way to capture it all on paper.

If you want to get a hold of any of us, we're all on Facebook these days so look for us there!

Thanks to ALL of you for your love and support during our Army Days!

May God bless you abundantly!

Well now....

Seems it's been nearly a year since my last post here.

I'm officially putting this blog on hiatus until such time as Brian gets deployed again (not anytime soon), or some other such big news happens.

If you want to follow my day-to-day ramblings, I'm on Facebook and use that outlet for posting pictures, scrapbook pages, and all of the little bits that make up my life.

If you want to stay in touch, but are unsure about Facebook, drop me a line and I can walk you through setting it up fairly securely.

It's been a great journey, thanks for walking it with me!

Whirlwind TX trip

Aaryk, Percy and I just got back from visiting Brian & Share at their house on post at Ft. Hood. We left at 6pm on Friday and got back (2200 miles later) at 6pm on Sunday! Good thing we have Labor Day to recover!

It was originally going to be a trip to take the Uhaul full of Brian's stuff to them. Then he finally got orders and will be going to Ft. Knox with the rest of his unit next month. Since the Army wouldn't pay to move them twice, they are waiting until the move to Ft. Knox to get the majority of their things.

But they had left the computer, the microwave, and some other essential (meaning video game things!) in Phoenix. So, we made this crazy fun trip to bring them a carload of stuff.

Aaryk is more tired than I, and I'm exhausted!

But I DID get a couple of pictures of the kids in front of their house with my cell phone camera (can you believe *I* forgot the camera?!?!)

So, here you go!

At Ft Hood 1

At Ft Hood 2

It's a cute little house, with a fenced back yard, so Percy got to go out and play.

We got rained on after dinner at Olive Garden, so we didn't get to the movies as planned. But we did just hang out for a while and had a good time.

I'm looking forward now to visiting them at their NEXT house! :)

BRIAN IS HOME!

I had to wait until I got confirmation today, but the boy is home!

Share flew out to Texas on Monday, and Brian's flight came in on Wednesday evening.

They move in to on-post housing on the 14th, and are staying with friends on post in the meantime.

I don't have much more info at the moment, I'm just glad he is home and safe!

He goes on leave at the end of the month, and will be in Phoenix for a bit in August.

Thanks to everyone who prayed, sent care packages, and in all other ways supported him during his deployment!

heh...Oops!

I forgot to tell you all something!

Brian became SPECIALIST Schreiber earlier this year!

He's now at the same rank Aaryk was when he got out. Next step...Sargent!

Brian coming home...soon!

As with everything in the Army, this is subject to change with NO notice, but as of now Brian is due to be stateside by the end of May!

The plan for now is that I'll take some time off of work and drive Share out so we both can be there when he gets off the plane.

At this point, prayers for his safety are still the priority, but also that I'll be able to put together the finances for this trip and all the little things that have to fall into place (like on-post housing for the kids!) for it all to happen would be greatly appreciated!

No more care packages at this point please, as they may not get to him before he leaves, but I'm sure he'd still appreciate cards and letters!

More information about his homecoming, both in TX and here in AZ, when I have it. He hopes to be going on leave as soon as he can, and hopes to be out here for the big ComiCon in San Diego this summer. We'll certainly be having a gathering for him as well, and details will follow as I get them!

Thanks again for ALL your prayers and support!
