Two bits of excellent news!

First, we got the info on our new house. As you will recall, we were able to get into on-post housing so quickly because we were willing to move into one of the older houses for a few months until some of the renovated ones were ready. Well, our new 3 bedroom home will be ready on December 8! We get the keys on the 9th, and the Army has a moving company that will come in on the 12th and 13th and get us packed moved, and UNPACKED! I am so excited about this! Not that we needed another bedroom, but I can sure find a use for it!

Second, and more importantly---

Aaryk got promoted yesterday!!!

He is officially PFC Drake.

He had to get all of his uniforms changed this week, and has an inspection on Friday where he needs his Class A uniform, so we got it 'upgraded' now as well!

He reads the blog, so if you want to send him a comment, you can leave it here.

Whew! I think that's enough excitement for a while!

My excitement from last week

My life is not the most interesting at the moment, and I'm good with that. The most exciting thing to happen last week was getting to watch the post fire department perform a 'live fire' drill on the house across the street. In their renovating process, several houses across the street fro us were due to be demolished. The one on the corner got used for the fire department to practice on.

They started at 0800 and by 1400 they had totally burned it out.

Being the high point of my week, of course I took pictures!
