Interesting articles

I just read this and it's very similar to what's going on here at Ft. Bragg. Outsourcing the post housing not only makes for better living, but saves the Army lots of money!

Yep, it was a busy week!

Let's see, my folks got in on Monday afternoon, the 3rd, and with the help of our neighbor we unloaded all the furniture. Tuesday we went to the Airborne & Special Ops Museum in downtown Fayetteville. It was very cool and gave me the chance to see more of the city!

This is the marker for the Test Platoon, the very first Airborne soldiers!

Wednesday we went to the Airborne museum on post . It has one of every type of aircraft that the 82nd has jumped from, and assorted vehicles that have made the jump!

Although smaller, it was every bit as cool as the bigger museum downtown. I have lots more pictures if anyone is interested.

Thursday and Friday Mom and I did a lot of running around while Dad and Rex (their adorable, energetic Jack Russell/German Short-haired Pointer mix dog) relaxed at the campground. Thursday morning we went to bible study together, and Thursday evening we got to go see some old friends on post, a young man I used to babysit (making me feel very old!) is stationed here with his family.

Friday, Mom and I drove up to Cary to go to My Girlfriend's Kitchen . It was such a blast! It's a place where they have all the ingredients ready and you prepare meals to freeze and use later. We split ours, since they are designed to serve 4-6 people. There were about a dozen women there during our session and it was just fun!

Aaryk got back, very tired and very wet, on Friday evening, so the folks were able to see him for a little bit. They left on Saturday for the rest of their trip.

It was a wonderful week, and I can't wait until they are able to come out again!

Going to be a busy week!

Aaryk leaves this morning for a weeklong mission with his Company. My folks arrive tonight with their trailer full of my furniture!

Hopefully Aaryk will be back before my folks have to leave again, but we'll have a good time in any case.

Please keep them all in your prayers during their travels, and I'll keep you posted on what Aaryk's up to as I am able!
