What I did this summer....

Well it's past time for my quarterly update here and I'm sorry I haven't kept up better with this blog.

There's nothing earthshattering to report...unless you count the fact the Brian finally has a JOB! He's working in a call center doing customer service, and really enjoying it. The only problem is that after telling him he'd be working a 7-4 shift they turned around and gave him an 11-8 one! He busses to and from and that just wasn't going to work. He did get them to move it up a couple of hours so at least he CAN get home on the bus, but if they can't deliver on the hours they said they would he's going to start job hunting again. So...prayers for Brian that he'll be able to keep this job would be appreciated!

There's not a whole lot new with us, Aaryk has some wisdom teeth pulled last week that he's recovering from, I started seriously dieting and working on exercising more. After going to the doctor for an ear/sinus problem, I discovered that I've gained quite a bit of weight this last year! I want to lose about 60 lbs, and my goal is to be at my ideal weight by the time we go back to Phoenix in '08.

Some of the interesting stuff that happened this summer I have in pictures-

I got to attend the Change of Command ceremony for the 407th BSB at the end of May

Then in July, we got to see President Bush when he came on post to give his Independence Day speech

and at the end of July, my friend Lisa came out for a visit and we went down to Wilmington NC and toured the Battleship North Carolina, did a 'ghost walk' tour of haunted places in the town (narrated by the dread pirate Dreyfuss!), and toured one of the many old mansions. What a great sense of history!

So it was a busy, and thankfully uneventful summer.

At the end of September, we got a new addition to our family (no not THAT kind!)-

The folks decided to 'upgrade' to a trike and we bought their Goldwing! Dad took a week and rode it down to us and got to spend a couple of days visiting. Take a look!

Oh, and here's a pic of their new trike!

Pretty cool!

Well, I think that's about it for what we've been doing. Mom is coming out for a visit on Monday for a couple of weeks and we're going to do all sorts of crafty type things! I'm really looking forward to that, and you can bet there'll be plenty of pictures for my next update!

Thanks for hanging in there with me to the end here, and thank you all for your prayers and support!
